 Our First DCSS President was Kenneth MacRae - 1910-1911.
A group of Scottish men met each month in one of their houses in Poughkeepsie to discuss Scottish topics. Women were not allowed to attend. 
​This is an excerpt from tbe minutes of the DCSS meeting on 
January 9th, 1912. 
“ Officials for the year were voted on and appointed: President and Treasurer - Brother Taylor ,Vice President - Brother Kenzie, Secretary - Brother Lang, Financial Secretary - Brother Moodie.   Communication was read by the secretary from the Newburgh Scottish Society in answer to a letter asking whether or not they were to have a Burns concert at Newburgh on the 25th. The reply stated that they were not.  The suggestion that the members of the society have a sleigh ride with lady friends or a Burns Supper with lady friends was next considered and it was finally agreed to have a Burns Supper and concert without ladies.”
